1. About this policy
Cookies are small text files that a website can store on your device. They are often used to remember you, keep you signed in or measure how a website is used. This policy explains how the EyeTech website uses cookies and how you can control them. Please read it together with our Privacy Policy.
2. The public pages set no cookies by themselves
The public pages of this website do not set cookies on your device by themselves. You can read the website, send an enquiry, request a quote or book a visit without any cookie being stored by us.
3. The cookie our team uses
Our own team signs in to a management area to answer enquiries and handle bookings. When they sign in, a cookie keeps their session secure. It is strictly necessary for signing in, it is not used to track anyone, and it is not set for visitors to the public pages.
4. Analytics, only with your permission
We may use website analytics, such as Google Analytics or Ahrefs Analytics, to count visits and see which pages are used, so that we can improve the website. When analytics is switched on, a banner asks whether you allow it.
- If you choose Accept, the analytics tool is loaded and may set cookies or similar identifiers on your device.
- If you choose Decline, or you do not answer, it is not loaded and nothing is set.
- We remember your choice in your browser's storage. You can change it at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
We also count visits on our own website, without any third-party tool. This is done by us, on our own servers, to learn how many people visit and which pages help them. We do this only if you choose Accept. If you choose Decline, or have not chosen yet, we do not count your visit:
- When you accept, we save a random number in your browser's storage. It lets us tell new visitors from returning ones and count your page views together. It contains nothing about you, and it is removed if you later decline. We do not set a cookie for this.
- For each page view we record the page visited, the language, the type of device, where the visit came from (for example a search engine) and the time. We do not store your IP address, and we do not record your name or anything you type into a form.
- We do not count robots, people who have switched on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, our own staff, or page refreshes.
- Individual visits are kept for 90 days and then deleted. After that only totals remain, for example how many visitors came on a given day.
5. What we do not use
- advertising or marketing cookies;
- cookies that build a profile of you or follow you from one website to another;
- social media tracking.
If we ever add anything else that sets cookies, we will explain it on this page first and, where the law requires, ask for your permission before it is used.
6. Fonts, images and similar technologies
The fonts, images and styles of this website are served from the website itself, so loading a page does not involve other companies setting cookies on your device. Apart from remembering your cookie choice and, only if you accept, the random visitor number described above, we do not use your browser's storage.
7. Links to other services
Some links take you to services run by other companies, for example WhatsApp or a social network when you share an article. Those services may set their own cookies once you open them. We do not control them, so please read their own cookie and privacy policies.
8. Technical information
Separately from cookies, when you send a form we record technical details such as your IP address and browser type to keep the website secure and to limit spam. Our Privacy Policy explains this in full.
9. Managing cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you see, block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking all cookies will not stop you from using the public pages of this website.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed, and the version on the website when you use it is the one that applies.
11. Contact us
If you have a question about this policy, please get in touch through our contact page. You will find our phone number, WhatsApp number and email address there.
